İbrahim Halil Korkmaz: A Representative of Business, Tourism, and Politics

Known as an influential figure in Turkey’s business world, İbrahim Halil Korkmaz has shaped his career over the past 35 years through his work in the business, tourism, and renewable energy sectors. With his international experience, he has made significant contributions to Turkey’s cultural and tourism policies.

Beginning his professional journey in the tourism sector, Korkmaz gained extensive experience by working in various roles, from tour operations to hotel management. Between 1994 and 2011, he lived in Moscow, where he established a vital bridge between Russian and Turkish business communities. His expertise and connections in Moscow have been the foundation for successful projects in regions such as the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), Turkic Republics, and Azerbaijan.

Since 2014, Korkmaz has focused on the renewable energy sector, founding Boras Enerji and leading solar energy projects. The company has become a leading institution in both engineering and project development in Turkey. Additionally, he has maintained a diverse portfolio by engaging in real estate, automotive, and commodity sectors.

Korkmaz also plays a key role on international platforms, advocating for and promoting Turkey’s interests globally.

Dedicated to showcasing Turkey’s tourism potential internationally, Korkmaz has successfully served as a representative for the Istanbul Convention and Visitors Bureau (ICVB). As a Board Member of the Tourism Council at the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB), he has spearheaded the development of strategic plans for the tourism sector.

Known for his commitment to social responsibility, İbrahim Halil Korkmaz serves as Vice President of the Turkish National Paralympic Committee, supporting initiatives that encourage greater inclusion of individuals with disabilities in social life. Believing in the unifying power of sports, Korkmaz actively promotes sporting activities for people with disabilities.

The work led by Korkmaz extends beyond Turkey, encompassing international collaborations. He has contributed to Turkey’s strategic goals by establishing regional partnerships in energy, tourism, culture, and defense industries. His engagements in Moscow, the Turkic Republics, and Central Asia exemplify this vision.

Married with four children and two grandchildren, İbrahim Halil Korkmaz balances his family life with his professional responsibilities. He focuses on projects aimed at leaving a more livable world for future generations.
